The people of Osu Salem in Accra were in disarray as fire gutters a house causing one death yet to be confirmed. A six year old girl is feared dead but we are yet to find that out.
Thankfully, firefighters who arrived at the scene have brought the inferno under control. It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical fault although the fire authorities have not established the actual cause.
A nine month old boy who is said to be a brother of the deceased escaped death but sustained severe injuries. The parents of the children were nowhere to be found at the time of the fire outbreak.
Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Billy Anaglatey, revealed to Joy News that the service has commenced investigations to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. He was quick to add that the fire was put under control by the timely intervention of the National Fire Service.
He emphasized;
“Until we are able to examine all remains of the components that are in the room to flush out few things, I would not be able to say exactly what caused the fire.”Meanwhile we have gathered information that the parents of the deceased and the injured child are currently in the Ghana Police Hospital.
